During my years as an active runner and now weightlifter/bodybuilder I have had my fair share of problems.
List of problems:
• Runner's Knee
• Pulled neck and upper back muscles
• Pulled my right shoulder muscle
• Pain in my left shoulder
• Inflamed calves
• Pain in my left hip
• Inflammation of my left achilles
• Pulled hamstrings
• Pulled right abductor muscle
As some of these injuries have been too severe, I have been forced to see many physical therapists. All my previous therapists have accessed the problems and acted accordingly to repair or mend the pain. But all of the problems have kept returning over time. Recently I have been experiencing some severe hip pain, and I was recommended to visit a physical therapist called Doctor Peng. Unlike other physicians, he didn't pay any attention to my hip muscle. Instead, he immediately focused on the underlying cause of all my problems, large structural issues related to my skeletal frame.
Underlying structural problems:
• Scoliosis, upper back is tilted to a side (to the right in my case)
• Left pelvic bone is tilted forward and down
• Right pelvis is tilted backwards
• Misaligned Collarbones(Clavicles)
• Kyphosis, upper back is tilted forward
• Forward head posture (head is in front of the body instead of on top of the body)
• Tight left adductor muscle
• Thoracic curve and cervical curve are misaligned
Previous to this I’ve been to 4 physiotherapists, 3 chiropractors and 1 manual therapist and none of them have ever attended any of these underlying problems, or made me aware of them despite my long history of injuries.
To fix this, Dr. Peng put me on a lot of different treatments:
• Left lateral quad release
• Fascia release in the spine and ribcage
• Ultrasound (for muscle relaxing)
• Hammer (for effective massage)
• Kinesiology tape to stimulate correct use of the muscle
I feel better immediately after the treatment and there is noticeable physical changes. I would recommend Dr.Peng to anyone with even the slightest regard toward their health.
Treating the cause of the problem.
